So here we are, in the midst of Wrath of the Lich King, and you decide to start a Hunter. Well, you're gonna need to know how and where to level him or her in order to get to 80 and take part in all the great content that Blizzard has put in the endgame.
At this point, you're probably thinking "Huh? Why is this guy putting up another Hunter guide when BRK already has his blog and his podcasts and his movies?"
Well here's the deal. BigRedKitty is no longer playing WoW and blogging about it. We don't know if he's coming back, so we decided to sort of continue what BRK has started. End of tangent.
OK, so you've rolled your Hunter, you've picked your Race, you watched the intro to wherever you start, now what? Well, if you haven't watched them already, watch BRK's Baby Hunter movies. Yes, they stop at Level 8, but never fear! We shall continue from there using those movies as a springboard. We will have those linked on the site soon, until then you can find them in the episodes category of Project Lore.
Starting at Level 10:
So now you're Level 10 and the first thing you will want is your pet. Starting with a series of quests, eventually you will end up with a spell called Tame Beast. Tame Beast is a channeled spell and the channeling time is 20 seconds. During this time, you armor is reduced by 100% and you can't do anything else or you will interrupt the spell. Got it? Good. Now for your first pet. Pretty much anything will do, just pick something that you think looks cool. Remember, it's YOUR pet, not Beast Within's pet, not BigRedKitty's pet, not Joe Schmo Hobo's pet, YOUR pet. Go out there and tame something! And when you tame it, give it a sweet name! Don't just let your new best friend sit there nameless, name it something! A human name will work, a friend's pet's name is fine, just don't let it sit there as "Cat" or "Gorilla" or "Boar". That's boring. Don't do it. Name it something! :)
So you're level 10, you have your pet, you've named it, and now you're ready to start the long journey to level 80. Well, where do you start? Usually, the zone directly next to your starting zone is up and ready for your entry by the time you have your pet. Go there, you will most likely enjoy leveling to 20 with your new best bud. But what about after 20? Well, at that point you have many different options. Here is a list of zones that have quests for level 20 players:
In no particular order;
Hillsbrad Foothills
Wetlands
Redridge Mountains
Duskwood
Stonetalon Mountains
Ashenvale
The Barrens (level 15-25)
Thousand Needles (at level 25)
As you can see, there are many opportunities to level from 20. We are going to stop here, and later on we will add lists of all the zones for the particular leveling ranges for wherever you happen to be leveling your Hunter.
See you soon! :)
